History:
Immigrants from Asian brought breeding stock to the Pannonian basin, from which the Magyars bred an indigenous breed.

Special characteristics:
Very rugged dairy sheep, well adapted to the continental climate, seasonal lambing with good fertility. Rackas lamb easily and show good mothering characteristics.

Phenotype description:
Small-framed, very active sheep. The two colours (white and black) should not be mixed. Elongated head, with a woolly forehead and small ears standing out from the head. Both sexes have straight, V-shaped corkscrewed horns.
